Product Description
This solid brass grinder is perfect for grinding coffee for Greek and Turkish coffee. It offers the same adjustable grinding mechanism as the other Zassenhaus mills but this model can produce an ultra fine powder. This beautiful coffee mill is built to last a life time and shouldn't be confused with the lesser grade models commonly available.

I have found better prices on the web for this item so I did not purchase it from Amazon. I bought this turkish mill to take on vacation with my French Press coffee pot and travel teapot. It really works pretty well and fast for the small amounts I am using for the 19 ounce French Press. The body and handle are made from a non-ferrous metal and the conical burrs are hardened steel and I'm sure they will not be replaced in my lifetime. My only reservation is that there is only slightly over one and a half turns of adjustment for grind selection. I find that all the way open (ccw) and then about a half turn in makes a pretty nice course grind (all the way open makes an inconsistent grind since the burrs are bouncing. At the tightest adjustment, the burrs are rubbing but I am told they will not degrade since they are hardened and the crank is turned rather slowly. The tightest setting, while fine, still seems a little course for espresso grind but it is a pretty fine grind. In short, it certainly does the job, it's small and looks nice. I would buy it again.

I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan and while preparing for the journey I wanted to make sure I'd be well caffienated regardless of the conditions. I already had an AeroPress and a means of generating water heater but I wanted to ensure that I'd be able to get fresh coffee without being dependent on power being present. After shopping around I decided on the Zassenhaus. It's rugged construction, compact size, and efficiency in operation has made it one of the best purchases I've made in preparation for my deployment. My fellow Marines chuckled at the amount of time and effort I put into my coffee....until they tasted it. Now they come pleading for a cup every morning.I initially had the grind set too fine and was concerned had damaged the device or it wasn't functioning properly. After adjusting to what I though would be a much more coarse grind, I was pleasantly surprised to find a still had an espresso quality grind and the device functioned properly.I'm sure I'll still get a good amount of use out of this purchase well after this deployment.

Bought mine 10 or so years ago to use for grinding peppercorns. It has never seen coffee. Built to last a lifetime, it can produce a couple of tablespoons of freshly ground pepper in half a minute.
