Capresso 565 Infinity Stainless Steel Conical Burr Grinder + Coffee Grinder Dusting Brush + 3-pack 35G Grindz Coffee Grinder Cleaner
Product Description
For maximum aroma and flavor retention nothing beats the Infinity Conical Burr Grinder series. Computer controlled special grinding heads cut the angles and shapes of the steel burrs to within 0.1 mm precision (1/250 of one inch). Burrs are produced as matched pairs and are hand assembled in Switzerland for precise fit. The multiple gear motor produces the slowest grinding action (< 450 rpm) resulting in highest precision grinding from Turkish fine to percolator coarse. Lowest noise conical burr grinder.

By L. Sauer
Our old Breville had taken a beating - I had to solder in a bypass to the on/off switch that had failed (why an on/off switch when there was a timer, I still don't understand). The timer was sketchy - it would sometimes grind for a second or two before stopping, other times at the same setting it would go for well past what it should have. But, it worked, and grinders are expensive. Finally, we ended up with a rock in a batch of beans and, well, problem solved. After reading reviews on a number of sites, we settled on this Capresso 565. We tend to grind for French Press - I might occasionally do some drip if we have guests, or I have an old school Italian espresso pot that I use very rarely. So, the uniformity of grinds and dosing standards, along with durability are far more important to me.This unit has several things going for it. It is in a nice, compact footprint that takes up less counter space than my previous machine. The hopper holds a fair amount of coffee - ~ 6 oz or so. Downside is that it's not tinted at all, and light isn't good for coffee. The motor is quiet, and when grinding, the noise is very limited - not enough to wake me when my wife makes a pot first thing in the morning. The design seems more rugged - pieces of the burr seem better made, and easily replaced, if needed. Overall, quality seems to be there. I will follow up over time about longevity.

By Ralph B. Wood
Over the years have owned numberous grinders from inexpensive to grinders in this range. Unfortunately the life of most is 3-5 years in my experience. Over time the grinding plates or blades tend to dull and I have had a rock mixed in with my beands, which most machines do not handle. I just purchased this one a few weeks ago, and of all that I have ever owned I rate this one the best. It grinds the beans in a very uniform way from the finer grinds to the more coarse. It is heavy and just feels high quality. Of course it is not completely quiet; however, none are and this one has a nice hum that sounds rather good. The only thing that is a slight down side is that the amount of coffee it grinds on each setting is not always the same, ie a 6 may be just right for 6 cups today and a bit too much for six tomorrow. It starts grinding the moment you start turing the timmer, so it may be that one day I turn the dial faster or slower than the previous. I see no reason not to highly recommend.
