Brass Coffee Mill (Round) 'Turkish Coffee Grinder' [Decorative Only]
Product Description
Brass coffee mill with hand carved design. Decorative only. Not functional.
Brass, which is obtained by amalgamating copper and zinc, is durable, hard, and yet easly workable, which made it a prime metal to use in ship making, jewelry, and accessories. Since it is easily hammered compared to the bronze, it has been used in household utensils and cups, bowls, and pans, and it has also been used decoratively in lighting due to its similarity with gold.

By Don
This is an excellent mill! It works smoothly, produces a perfect grind for Turkish style coffee, and looks very nice. One reviewer totally bashed this mill, but I suspect he just did not know how to use it correctly. This thing grinds the beans quickly (when used properly), and with very little work. Moments after I opened the package, I was brewing a cup of Turkish coffee with freshly ground beans.

Despite what the description says, this does grind Turkish coffee quite well, and really isn't a decorative product. That's a plus though. The grinder itself is very stylish and ornate, and I love the writing in Arabic on the bottom. The one complaint I have is that the chamber holding the grounds at the bottom is rather poorly attached. I banged it sideways on the counter by accident (darn dogs) and the two parts of the chamber separated like a geode. I'm going to try silver soldering it back together. I recommend this though.

The top (pictured) actually has no detail, and what looks like a silver silver tip that secures the handle is literally a bare bolt! The handle is extremely discolored and very cheap looking, again the attachment on the handle is a knut. Also the actual handle tip is different, just a ball at the top, that kind of variation would be fine with me but I figured I would go ahead and list it as well. Last but not least, when the handle is "attached" (it just sits on there)it is extremely crooked and will not crank at all. It looks cheap.
