Simple mechanism.Easy to adjust.Easy to use.Easy to clean.I was nervous about buying a manual coffee grinder as they ALL had negative reviews. But I really wanted one because a) I live in hurricane country and like to be able to function without power b) I like being "old school" and c) anything that I can do "off the [power] grid" is awesome to me. So I picked this one.It comes with no directions, but it really needs none. There is a little thing that you turn to adjust the size of the grounds you make that you will need to turn to your liking before screwing on the handle. It's a pretty simple little thing, so just look at it and you'll figure it out.I'm very pleased with it.

By J. M. Taylor
I was looking for a manual burr grinder to use for my Bodum french press coffee maker since my Krups blade grinder is so loud (but otherwise a great device itself). I looked around and was surprised how many manual burr grinders were getting low ratings on Amazon. I saw this model, and took the plunge.I've been very impressed with it so far! The device is pretty intuitive to use - just unscrew the little cap on the top of the joint where the handle attaches to the mechanism and unscrew to make the grind more coarse. Now I no longer have copious amounts of sediment at the bottom of my mug!It can be a little noisy early in the morning, but I placed a folded dish towel underneath it to dampen this a bit to much success. Since I only make coffee for myself with the French Press, I don't mind that this doesn't make tons of grinds. Yes, it is also slower than a powered grinder, but the whole French Press process is slower and more methodical - it makes you savor each cup :)I don't use this to store grinds, however, I just grind as needed. I typically store whole beans in a vacuum canister so I have no experience in that use of this grinder. All told - this is a great, quieter option for those needing or wanting a burr grinder for their French Press.Enjoy!
