5Great little grinder
By DMFleming
I purchased this grinder after reading reviews on other, visually similar grinders. I chose this one because I like the color of the hopper.Reviewers of other small, manual grinders often complained about the noise and the amount of time it takes to grind beans. This grinder works quickly and quietly for my purposes. I grind coarse coffee for a french press. It takes about as long to grind the beans as it does to boil water. Grinding the beans is almost effortless. This grinder is substantially quieter than my old electric grinder.Grind consistency seems very good. I am getting much better tasting coffee from this grinder than from my old electric. The size is small. Its even smaller in person then it appears in the pictures. The grounds hopper is small. I fill it twice for my standard french press. If there was one thing I could change about this grinder, it would be to put a bigger grounds hopper and a slightly larger, heavier body on it. And I would have left the cheap emblem off. My emblem was not set straight on the foam backing and kinda looks cheap. The grinder would have a more upscale appearance without this part.I would highly recommend this product. For the price, it works wonderfully and it makes an attractive addition to the standard kitchen tool fare.

4Great for the price
By H. Silva
Can't beat what it does for the price. I would give it 5 stars, but there are a few shortcomings. It is relatively lightweight, so you need to hold it down pretty firmly in order to operate it. Also, the coarsest adjustment is still a bit finer than I prefer for use in my French press and the tray is tiny. Those are minor annoyances in my opinion, and overall I'm happy with the purchase.

5Little Big Grinder!
By Dennis M
I'm what you call old school. I grind my own coffee and enjoy it that way. I had an electric unit that lasted just under a year and it gave out. I then figured why get another electric unit that will die again when I can get a hand crank model and never worry about that issue.Enter the Rosewood Manual Coffee Grinder. First off it is a small unit built very solid. The wood is pleasing to the eye, and the fit and finish of the grinder is great. Simple to adjust the grind and it took me all of five minutes to find the setting for the grind I wanted. Having ceramic grinding bits, it is very uniform in making just the right cut when in use. Takes about a minute or two to grind the correct ammount needed for a 12 cup pot. Some say that is too long to wait, but really does that matter? Sure the electric does it in what, 10 seconds, but you have to watch it or it will grind too much and turn your coffee into dust! With this fine little manual unit, you find the setting that you prefer and leave it alone. Just drop the beans into the little hopper and grind away. You get a prefect grind everytime. In closing, using a manual grinder will not only produce the correct result in the grind you want, it does it with a certain amount of old world style that I find appealing. I can recall watching my grandmother grind her coffee with an old hand grinder and can still smell that aroma in her kitchen. So who needs some high speed electric unit that will die in a year? Not me, I like this "Little Big Grinder" just fine. With this unit you can have a small, strong, precise, and elegeant hand grinder that takes you back to a better time AND produce a great grind everytime.
