By crowgirl
This is all I needed, after purchasing a French press, to have consistently best coffee in my own home. Its quick, efficient, and I don't have to wonder, "Have I held down the grinder too long...what magic spell do I say to do it right?" As I read when researching burr grinders, it wasn't so much my technique with the non-burr grinders, it was the inconsistency of the grind. Sometimes I'd get big chunks of coffee along with powder. I thought that couldn't make a difference. I ground my expensive coffee in the store and it still wasn't all that spectacular at home. All I can say is, wow, I drink good coffee at home, finally!I'm not super happy with the design of the crescent shaped plastic cup that the coffee comes out into. Its got such tight corners, I need a tiny brush to clean out the (wasted) grounds, plus its a bit messy when getting the coffee into the pot, as that cup is such an odd shape, so my counter ends up being a mess. Its too wide and a (small) amount falls outside the pot, as well as some wastage from the spout, which has to be cleaned each time. But I wouldn't be a coffee nerd without some small thing to complain of. I got me a little paint brush and I keep the grinder on a plate.I've had it about a month, and I look forward to the coffee made possible by this grinder, even the night before ~

By Paul Muns
I have been using this grinder daily for about a month. It is much faster than my previous grinder and I have tested very oily and very dry beans in it at settings from coarse, for press, to espresso. I does a very competent job. Yes, it has a strange shaped plastic holder for the ground coffee but removing it and tapping it on the bottom and then to one side lets me pour grinds it out the narrow side easily into the filter. If it was glass it might not adhere with static but I have yet to find such a unit near the price. I set the side cup selector to six but only put in two 48cc scoops of fresh beans (~1 oz.) and use the front buttons to run it as long as needed to grind it all. I know this will make the right strength coffee for 8 cups of water. The only problem i have is getting the container back in position as it needs to be tipped in at the bottom slightly first to slide in and lock. I like the fact that a magnet is in the top of it to prevent it being turned on and have coffee flying out. I would have given it 4-1/2 stars out of 5 but I don't know how. I spent a very long time researching this on the Internet before buying and there was only the one rave review and a video showing it working but there were more major cons on the other units so I took a chance on this new one--I am still happy that I did. 4-1/2 stars!

By Alex Pinkus
I really wanted to love this grinder it looks great and does a pretty good job of grinding the coffee beans. However it has some serious issues.First: The container the ground coffee goes into is curved and narrow so you cannot get a coffee scoop into it and coffee grounds end up in spaces of less than a 1/8". The only way to use it would be to pour the grounds into another container making this a 2 step process.Second: I found ground coffee coming out of the top and bottom of the ground coffee container making a bit of a mess.Third: First time I set it for 12 cups and ended up with about 15 tablespoons of coffee.Fourth : no where on the box or the instructions does it state that this is a Conical Burr Grinder. It looks like it may be just a regular burr grinder. That would explain it's low price.Fifth: It is a 12 cup grinder while the Amazon site says 20 cup.2nd day set it for 10 cups and a full hopper and it kept turning off after grinding about 3 cups. I had to keep restarting the grinder to get the 10 cups I needed.Unfortunately I am a returning the grinder and will look a better grinder.
