I have this exact grinding mechanism on a different base. It is not very sharp so it takes a lot of pushing and pulling to get the beans to pass through the teeth. The grind is uneven, and the beans pop out of the hopper while grinding. The hopper is also rather small, so it takes several refills to get enough for a pot. BUT, the flavor of the coffee is superior to electric grinders.

this was a great purchase. I use it to grind coffee for my coffee press.perfect size for me i can grind a fresh batch every mourning.even take it camping.

This machine came with rust all over the metal, and the rivets and faceplate did not match the picture. I promptly returned it for a replacement. We will see if it comes back in the same condition. I haven't had a chance to use it, so I can't comment on its function. I gave it two stars because of the price point and it's aesthetics.So, I have just received the replacement of the first one. It has arrived with the identical condition as the first. Maybe a little less rusty. They need to figure what is causing the rust and why the metal rivets and faceplate doesn't match the piture.
