I like this thing. It gives me fresh ground coffee. The base is wood with a tight fitting top which is the grinder.It is fun to grind the beans, and I smell the fresh coffee.

Grinds even consistancy of beans. Takes a few minutes to grind, but for non-electric grinder it works wonderfully. Of course this would be for a coffee lover.....the average person would just buy an electric grinder. We use it about 3 times a week and have opted to let the electric grinder to have a rest period for a while.I would recommend it:)
