When my Krups coffee grinder finally expired after several years of faithful service, I decided to order the Capresso because of its larger capacity and vaunted "cool grind." I wish I had ordered the Krups instead. The Capresso takes much longer to grind the coffee, and the design ensures that no matter how careful you are, you will spill ground coffee all over your counter. In the time since I bought it another reviewer has reported that his or her Capresso broke within six months. Do not buy this model!

I like this Capresso grinder because it has more capacity than others I have used and it grinds my coffee beans to an even texture consistently. The trick is to not overheat expensive coffee beans during the grinding process and this unit does it well. This is the best blade grinder I have found.

I switched to the Capresso from a Braun grinder from the dawn of time. My Braun was very messy and did not grind the beans evenly. The Capresso is a big improvement. The beans are ground evenly. The grounds come out sort of fluffy because a lot of air circulates inside. I don't think it is messy at all. But I also don't fill it to the top. I put in about 1/2 cup of beans per pot of coffee, and it fills the Capresso about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way up. So when I take off the lid, all the grounds are down inside the chamber. With my Braun, I had to fill it to the top to get the right amount of ground coffee, and then it was messy when I took off the lid. I roast my own coffee, and I like that there is a little static in the lid. The chaff from the beans rises to the top and sticks there, but the coffee grounds do not. Best of all, the Capresso really improved the taste of my coffee. I had been grinding these beans that I was hating, but using them up because I bought a pound of them. After switching to the Capresso grinder in the middle of the bag, the coffee actually came out good. So it wasn't the beans so much as my old grinder. I didn't expect such an improvement, and for only $20. I was worried I was going to have to buy an expensive burr grinder to get good coffee. I'm glad I tried this first.
