First of all it arrived broken; the piece that holds the gear shaft up is made of plastic and was broken into several pieces when it arrived. the parts that were cast iron where held together with loose screws and it just didn't live up to my expectations after spending $45 bucks on it plus $12 for shipping, I was expecting something a little more solid. In addition the little compartment that holds the beans looks extremely small as well as the drawer, I know they're not supposed to be large but this was ridiculous. I will let you know what the return experience was like but i will not be asking for a replacement, I want my money back.Update: The return process was horrible, I was told that I received the wrong item, and even given a different product number over the phone for the item I was "supposed" to have received, so I let them send me a new one. *BTW this company sounds like a guy on his cell phone running it out of his garage. So I got the new one and it was in one piece I decided to use it and it grinds the coffee pretty nicely but the plastic piece worries me because it moves when you grind, not to mention that I was lied to and told it was a composite metal? What kind of BS is that? Long story short I decided to just keep the second one and save my time and frustration. Just know I will never buy anything from this company again and I wouldn't recommend this item to ANYONE.

I bought this from Kotula's for $29.99. I wanted a small burr grinder to prepare just enough fresh-ground coffee for a one-cup French Press. However, I also wanted the grinder to be attractive enough to leave out on the counter all of the time.This fits the bill! You can remove the nut on top of the device to adjust the ceramic grinding blades up or down. I was worried that it wouldn't produce a fine enough grind for me, but it did.It is heavy, and very cute. One of the photos shows its size compared to the one-cup French Press and the electric kettle. The other photo shows how to slide the top cover open to add whole beans, where to hold it for grinding, and the open drawer with grounds in it.Because the weight of the unit is in the top, it is top-heavy and therefore unstable. You must hold it down firmly while grinding. It got 4 stars from me instead of 5 because I wish that it had an easier way to hold it firmly, or else a wider base that could be screwed onto something to hold it firmly for you.
